I have done both Pot and cocaine for years and never had a problem getting high from either one of them. So I'm wondering if any of the meds I take keep me from feeling the effects of the drugs. any one else have this problem ?

You dont list your meds, But it's never a good idea to mix recreational drugs with psych meds , or any meds to be honest.

It's damn near impossible to find stability with Bipolar while messing with street drugs or alcohol.

Sorry that didnt really answer your question , Im sure someone will stop by and offer there own advice.

Good luck

No matter how small, a positive change deserves to be celebrated!

I recently smoked weed and had no problem feeling it but it made me paranoid, so not doing that again. I've only experimented with coke in my teens but I'd be too afraid to do it now since I've went through a psychosis. I think you'd still feel the effects. I don't think it's good to be mixing psych meds with street drugs all the time though. But if it's every once in awhile and your stable who am I to judge....

I've never heard of BP meds preventing you from feeling the effects of recreational drugs, however it's not a good idea to mix the two due to drug interactions and stuff. Also be careful with cocaine as stimulants can trigger manic symptoms.

I'm wondering why you don't give up the Coke if you're bipolar?
It's going to lead to an attack sooner or later.

Cocaine is a nightmare for bipolar. I don't see how you could be doing that and say it doesn't cause any problems in your life.

I am not sure about those drugs specifically, but Wellbutrin has been known to curb cravings because it works on the dopamine receptors. I quit eating chocolate when I started wellbutrin. I'd imagine different drugs working on different receptors may influence other cravings.
