I am on Lithium Carbonate 600 mg.

I bought Lithium Orotate from Swanson Brand and start taking 5 pills of 5 mg a day.

But I am facing sleepiness and slight head Ache during work.

With Lithium Carbonate I was completely perfect with very slight brain fog.

Changing the brand would make a difference or should I switch back to Lithium carbonate. What do you guys say?

I'm not sure mixing the two is a good idea. Are you taking them at the same time? Does your doctor know you are taking the orotate? Are you on any other meds?

I stopped taking Carbonate and I was/am not taking any other medicine. I told to my pdoc about Orotate, sadly he was unaware of it and was not recommending it as it is not approved.

I think it's a supplement. My NP who focuses on mostly holistic treatment gave me some. I don't notice anything whatsoever with it, but I'm not taking lithium anymore. I wonder if the combination intensifies the brain fog from the lithium carbonate and makes you tired?
Idk. I might be off base. Is the lithium oratate that you are taking a medication or a supplement?

It's a Supplement which is available over the counter and is easily available online.

I tried it based on my research over internet and review of people on amazon suffering from bipolar.

All I can tell you is I am on Lithium Carb and it makes me sleepy and I am on 900 mg so I take 3 pills. But because they make me tired doc said to just take all 3 at bedtime. But I am getting off of Lithium cuz it didnt work for me. I started it about 6 months ago and the last 3 months I have been in a bipolar depressive episode that slowly got worse. I never heard of that other Lithium supplement but I would be very careful taking something your doc says not to take. But then again, if your just taking that and not the Lithium Carb it may be ok. Just don't wanna take too much of it and get to a toxic level. Maybe you should start a mood diary to keep track of how your feeling and if your not noticing a positive change then ditch it and get back to Lithium Carb. At least if your taking that, your doc can raise dose carefully, and have you give some blood to check the levels every couple months cuz you can't get too high. Lithium toxicity is nothing to mess round with. Please be careful

Lithium Orotate is not Toxic as Lithium Carbonate, that's why it is available over the counter. It is more bio available than Carbonate and hence required less dosage of Elemental Lithium inside the body as claimed by some doctors, so no periodic blood level tests in this case.

I didn't experience that when i took lithium orotate. Do you take it at night? I take lithium carbonate now and I take it at night to avoid the nausea.
