Do you remember when you could not wait to get up in the morning …

Do you remember when you could not wait to see your friends …

Do you remember when you slept all night in blissful sleep …

Do you remember when you could converse without screaming …

Do you remember when a difference of opinion was not life or death but ok …

Do you remember when you dreamed of retiring to a wonderful life …

Do you remember when life was full of promise , hope and future plans …

Do you remember when obsession was a perfume ...

Do you remember being happy …

. … Tigger ...

Love this! It brought a tear to my eye because yea, those were the days. I wonder if I'll ever experience these feelings again. Thank you for posting! (Hugs)

One time I was dreaming and this song that reminded me of my youth was pumping so loud within the dream and I was at a different stage of my life where it was all glowing excitement taste of adventure music and love......ahhh
So I woke up and I wanted that luscious feeling to stay but it left.
I chase it sometimes but I'm not sure you can ever get that "new" feeling back

Sweep the streets I used to own
I used to roll the dice
Feel the fear in my enemy's eyes
Listen as the crowd would sing
Now the old king is dead! Long live the king!
One minute I held the key
Next the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my castles stand
Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand

I want to feel that rush of the unexpected and the build up of waiting for good things

Sometimes I think "what happened to you?" Fearless adventuresome thrill in the moment...(although too impulsive and wreckless lol)
I feel like if I had never seen depression I could be living my dream life traveling the world as a journalist
I mean ppl still do it...but I guess I let it stop me

Damn that sux
Lol

I remember. I cry now because that part of my life is over and now I'm just old and stressed out and nothing worked out the way I wanted it to and none of my dreams came true and now I feel like it's too late and the reality of the situation is that it's impossible.

I've been bipolar for more than 40 years, so I really don't remember any of those things. But my psychiatrist has me on some great meds, and I can safely say that I am almost stable. A little bit of hope has seeped into my life, and it really feels nice.

Do you think it's possible to get those things back?

My first symptoms appeared at 14 but I had good and bad times as bipolar brings. But what I think happens is the destruction of ones self that it causes over time and especially after a psychotic break, or as we age, or how the episodes do damage to the brain over time. Not to mention the bad decisions that stay with us
But as a youth it brought me much adventure and a fearlessness that led to amazing things
