That's it. I've had it. My pdoc is always on his phone or iPad talking to other people during our sessions. The last straw was when he told me he would pay me to write him a good review on Yelp. No thanks! He's earned each one of those reviews and I'm not going to lie. So now here I am back to the drawing board once again. I've been calling all day, and I can't find anyone on my insurance accepting new patients. I guess I may have to just pay out of pocket, which I was hoping to avoid since I don't really have money like that. I'm so frustrated.

I was just having the same problem trying to find a therapist!! I was so frustrated that I just about gave up. But then I decided to give it a try again. I think how I was telling people what my insurance actually sounded confusing, so I rephrase it and had success. Not to say that will be your answer, but I really know that frustration. I had been trying since December and finally have an appointment in two weeks. Don't give up. And maybe you can find do a pdoc with flexibility in payment. But that's tricky because it is pricey, so I sending good vibes your way to find the right pdoc! Please take care.
Sorry for the rambling...

Can't believe he offered to pay you to write a good review. I would be running for the hills too. There are just so many things wrong with that. As I am in Australia I don't have any ideas on how you can find an affordable psychiatrist but I really wish you all the best.

There were two centers near me that have a four month wait. They have a sliding scale. I told them to add me to the wait list. Until I find a pdoc I think I'm going to up the sessions with my tdoc from once per week to twice per week. It shouldn't have to be this hard to find treatment.

Yes, thankfully. If it takes more than four months though, I don't know what to do.

I wish you the best luck in this situation. It isn't an easy one to be in. I lost my therapist and psychiatrist around the same time in 2014.
