What are the best anti psychotic and anti depressant combos with the least side effects? I was on olanzapine and prozac and got a terrible eye twitches. Being on the olanzapine for 5 weeks made me feel suicidal. I went off meds fully, as I do not like to be medicated.

I understand. I self medicated for many years.

I think when my hormones changed I really needed psych meds.

What are your bipolar complaints?
That determines what the Pdoc will want to prescribe. Lots of members like me have their med cocktails at bottom of post.

It's too individual to say.

For example, someone might do really well on Effexor and Abilify, both of which were HELL for me.

Right now I'm on wellbutrin and Latuda (plus Seroquel for sleep), but before that I was on probably half a dozen other combinations and some worked, others didn't.

I would try viibryd and symbyax before trying the separated AD/AP's. Seroquil made my head turn to the left. Zyprexa made me gain a ton. So I like abilify specifically the shot version. I haven't found an AD that I like I'm on wellbutrin and effexor. I liked celexa the best but it started to lock my jaw.

I would have to agree that it is specific to the individual. I love being on Wellbutrin, but I've heard that makes others manic. Effexor seemed to work for me in the very beginning, but I don't think it's doing anything now. I gained a ton of weight on Seroquel, so I refuse to go back on that, but some take it for sleep. Everyone has different body chemistry so what works one may not work for the other. That will be something you have to work with out with your pdoc.

Not a medication fan either. I'm on 2 mood stabilizers.
It depends of what you need. I don't like ADs.

Hi,

Sorry you are struggling.

Symbyax is Zyprexa and Prozac in one pill. You've tried that.

I'd like to know what symptoms you are seeking relief from to help further. Lots of good combos - I am enjoying Latuda and Prozac.
