It's closed now.
Remember when the govt wanted to save money and said some bull about it being inhumane to keep people in hospital.
It was all a lie. That's how CA ended up with so many mentally ill homeless people.
They're everywhere. And scary. The most desperate they get the worse it is.
I drive a convertible and avoid certain streets and corners. Now my girlfriend told me there seems to be loads of new panhandlers in Huntington Beach. Yikes. Have you noticed in your city?

There are crazy homeless people everywhere in America. San Francisco had the most noticeable homeless population that I've seen so far, and I've travelled quite extensively throughout the US.

Where I live in Northern Virginia we've seen an increase in homeless over the last couple of years due to the installation of more accessible public transportation (metro rails) throughout the region.

I feel really bad for them, I used to be a lot more willing to give them money but can't remember the last time I've actually "spared some change" for a homeless guy ... It's not even that I'm worried that they'll spend it on drugs or whatever, I just don't like giving cash to people standing on the side of the streets or near convenience stores / gas stations / whatever.

There's one guy in the High Desert. When I'm going that way I'll buy two for one hamburgers. Then toss them to him when I get off freeway.
He spends so much time in the wind, freezing cold and blistering heat he looks like red leather. His hands chapped red too.
