Clozapine has exposed much incompetence in the mental health system for me. When I was first on it in November 2014 I got my blood work done at hospital A, but every week they ****ed it up so in reality I had to get my blood work done 2-3 times a week and only took the clozapine 5-6 nights a week.
Then I switched to getting it done at hospital B. Things were running smoothly until I couldn't see my pdoc anymore, as I was seeing him as part of an IOP (intensive outpatient program) and I was discharged. I couldn't find another pdoc to prescribe the clozapine and monitor the blood work. I got screwed by one guy that cancelled his appointment 6 times! I ended up taking myself off clozapine because of this in September 2015 and was in and out of hospitals from September to December.
I was put back on clozapine in December and went back to the IOP and the wonderful pdoc there was monitoring the blood work and everything. Now I finally found a pdoc to prescribe the clozapine, but she ordered the wrong lab work so they did the wrong test this week and I couldn't pick up my meds last night. They gave me enough for last night so I could call them back and get the right test done today. I called them back and they basically said they couldn't help me until next week, and the pharmacy won't give me anymore.
This med is super helpful but it's such a pain!
