I had 2 abortions.
After the first one my following menstruatral cycle caused hemorrhaging. My boyfriend called my mom and she took me to hospital.
At first they were not going to help me because I was scared my eyes were dialated.
So the Dr told my mom I was on drugs. I wasn't on anything.
They just put a large pan under me to collect all the blood.

My mom advocated for me and screamed and yelled at the Drs. They finally helped me.

Do your eyes dialate when hypo from bipolar?

What a horrible experience . You needed to be cared for, not accused of being on drugs. I'm glad your mom yelled and made them help you!

I have heard yes that pupils can get dilated in mania. Also you could have had intense anxiety, loss of blood, anemia - all could also cause dilated pupils.

And yes I think if an abortion is emotionally hard experience it could certainly trigger an episode. I said "if" because I'm pro-choice and sometimes they go smoothly. I've had a traumatic one when I was a teen, and I had one that went fine at age 30, I already had 3 kids with absent fathers and was just so relieved for the option, and it was a non surgical. This one you went through sounds intense and traumatic. I'm so sorry. You should not have been treated like that.

I think an abortion could. I know having a child caused symptoms in me, so maybe it could change your hormones?

I'm sorry you were treated so horribly. You didn't deserve that.

I'm sorry you had such an experience with lack of caring. Yes, your eyes can dilate when you're hypomanic - or just scared, honest! And you had plenty to be scared about then.

Could having an abortion trigger bipolar symptoms? The emotional load from an abortion could definitely trigger mental illness in anybody - it's a huge thing to have happen.

Yes. That's what I thought.
Stupid Drs. The memory still haunts me.
Things are piling up on me this week.
