I'm totally depressed about having to choose between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Neither is acceptable to me. So, if they do actually become the presidential nominees, I'm going to ask my doctor for some additional meds to help me cope. Anyone have any recommendations?

Completely agreed. Not to get too political, but things aren't hopeless for him just because he's behind right now. A lot of states that have voted were expected states for Hillary, and a lot of the ones coming up are states expected to lean toward Bernie, so he should catch up (ahem and win).

I was finding it depressing and then have been getting involved in campaigning for Bernie and have actually found it one of the few things I can care and get excited about right now while depressed. I think the whole political thing is still adding lots of stress, though.

Anyway, try to remember that, (while I'd be crushed if either Hillary or Trump won, too) worst case scenario, the president alone doesn't 100% change things. Be sure to research and vote for the best smaller, more local representatives, too. Those can actually have a lot of effect.

I have decided to use the write-in feature on my ballot this year. Still not sure whose name I'll choose, probably Kasich, but one thing's for sure and that's I will not vote for Trump, Hillary OR Bernie. As a conservative, I don't want a socialist of any stripe in the White House, and I despise both Clinton and Trump so I won't be voting for them either. It's the only way I can register my protest. Out of a country of 300+ million people, I have trouble believing that these three losers are the best we can do for leader of the Free World. I guess we're going to get the government we deserve.

I'm really not feeling this year's presidential candidates at all. Haven't been paying too much attention to it though. I'll probably write in someone. I vote Misha Collins I just wouldn't feel good about Trump in office. And we certainly don't need Bush or Clinton re-runs.

Action, not meds. Even if they get elected, you stay active. No med in the world is gonna unelect Trump or Hilary. FFS.

Nadiya Savchenko is dying. People are dying on Donbass. Situation in Syria is bad, bad, bad. Slovakia just elected TWO neo-nazi parties in the government. In my own country things are getting weird and tense.

I am not running to my doctor, because anything that they might prescribe me might only make me number and more sheepish. Just like some would want me. Ocassionaly non-Russian vodka sometimes helps. Only sometimes.

If Trump gets elected, the world is screwed. I am screwed. But ADs or APs will not make him and the problem disappear.

I have total respect for your beliefs but I just feel we are at a time when we all
need to vote with our heads and not our hearts and the reason for that is simple.
There is not one single politician on either side that cares about the American
people period. Not one conservative politician cares about you and not one
more liberal politician cares about me. They only care about money and have
sold out our country as a whole. We have been taken over by major corporations and our politicians on both sides do their bidding and are owned
by them. Our politicians are treasonous and get away with it every time while
we throw citizens in prison for minor nonsense and ruin their lives.
We have no jobs left because corps move them all overseas not because of
Mexicans. That is just what they want you to think. Its called divide and conquer and they do it well. As far as socialism thats nonsense also, we have
many aspects of socialism in our country already and always have.
We will never be a socialist nation but we need bits and pieces of socialism
and we always will need them.
We must all come together as the people, the citizens of this country and have
each others back once and for all. Bernie is giving us that chance he is the best
candidate for our country at this time. We need to stop making big pharma
and big insurance companies billions while we grow poor.
We must have education for all our people or we will be a third world nation
very soon. We have no future without education, it must be within reach for
every single American. I can go on and on but I'll stop now.
United we stand divided we fall. No truer words have ever been spoken.
No more conservatives and liberals we must all first be Americans.

I get so upset and scared when I think about politics.

Donald Trump potentially becoming president makes me terrified, and the fact that people even like him makes me embarassed and ashamed to be an american. He's a hate filled racist with no political experience and he never actually says how he plans to do anything!

I like Bernie Sanders take on health insurance. It works for other countries. At the rate we're going right now soon no one is going to be able to afford healthcare. I have insurance and my IP stay is pushing 8,000 dollars right now! How am I going to be able to afford that? As far as socialism goes we already have some aspects of it. Do you like libraries and having your roads plowed in the winter?

This upcoming election just makes me feel sick!

If Trump is elected, he is thrusting the world into WWIII. The scenario is he allies Putin over mutual interests (killing Muslims and Ukrainians) and then they have an epic **** fight over who gets more of the smouldering ruins that onces been this world.

I'm sorry, but no, the "other people have it worse so you shouldn't be sad," argument is useless. One person's suffering isn't lessened or made less important by other peoples' suffering. While it isn't a good idea to just immediately jump up and get more meds simply because of the election, if someone IS feeling more depressed, there is absolutely no problem with seeking meds to help out.

No offense, but there IS a problem. Meds are supposed to be for "illness" whatever it means. So Trump is a chemical imbalance now?

Meds will not make Trump go away. Unless you dope yourself crazy, you will still care. So you only gonna wreck your liver some more. Trump is bad enough... Trump with side effects?

Really, this is not how meds work. They will not save your soul. They will not make you feel better long term about bad situation. Numb for a while, maybe.

Sure, we drank a lot during the totalitarian times. But we never thought it was solution... like meds from a doctor may imply.
