From drugs.com about how to take effexor:
"Effexor should be taken with food. Try to take this medicine at the same time each day."

But to be sure I would call the doctors office and ask. I rarely took my meds at the same time everyday and it was still ok. I'm better about it now but it can be hard sometimes.

I'm trying to get into a routine for going to bed and eating, hoping it helps with my mood. So I'm gonna try to eat at set times every day. It's just that usually breakfast is earlier during the week and later on weekends.

I'm also working on giving up soda and eating more healthy food instead of junk.

I was originally prescribed to take it at night, then it was recently switched to taking it in the mornings. I have an app to remind me to take my pills, so that helps to keep things regular. But I've taken it without food and nothing bad has happened. Some Saturday mornings I just can't get out of bed at that time for breakfast..
Thanks for this!

I feel great today, practically jumped out of bed this morning. Lots of energy, hoping it lasts all day.

It's been almost 2 weeks since I started taking Effexor and I'm so glad my dr chose this to put me on. Since the first day things have gone from depressed as very angry to happy, energetic, motivated, and not once have I gotten angry or lost my patience with my kids. I had a bad phone convo the other night with my mother that would have ended with me yelling and crying and then slamming things but I was calm and told her I was done talking and when I hung up I was just a little frustrated and called my sister to vent. Then yesterday my 6 year old had teen attitude all day and she was sent to bed early and had a major temper tantrum, kicking her door and screaming and I stayed completely calm.
Hoping things stay this way, I'm loving it.

Effexor was one of the worst drugs I've taken in terms of side effects. Migraines, blurry vision, insomnia, and constipation. And it didn't even work.

Different meds work for different people. I don't know if you read my update just above your post but it is working great for me sorry it didn't work out for you.
