Does anyone in real life know that you post on PC? If you've told your pdoc or therapist, that counts.

If people know that you post on PC, do they know what your username is? Do they know you post in the bipolar section?

If no one knows, do you plan on telling anyone? Would you be okay with telling someone?

Nope no-one knows at all and I don't plan on telling anyone. This forum is my life line in dark times. I can express myself on here and have no-one judge me in a sense

I just tell my husband I have an online support group.
No, I really wouldn't want anyone reading my posts except PC members.

exactly what i was going to say!.

the only reason i joined this forum was because my own family shut me out, leaving no alternative to talk about my issues- so i joined this site as a lifeline too.

and no... no one knows i post on here

Readers on my blog know, but I tell them everything anyway.

A couple of people at work do, just because I'm online there sometimes. One saw my username, but I highly doubt he reads my stuff, nor would anyone else. I'm not that interesting. I'm pretty sure they don't even know or remember the name of this site. They're just happy I have somewhere "to go" for support. I believe I told my T when I first started seeing her, but can't remember for sure. I guess I'm pretty open about my bp at work for the most part since I haven't had any negative responses (at least not to my face). And as far as telling other friends, well there hasn't been any reason to do so, plus I don't have many to begin with so I'm kind of limited anyway.
As far as purposely telling anyone, I don't know anyone that would be interested to even know. It has come up in conversations when I'm in an episode, but I usually say I post on message boards to help me when I need it.

When my bipolar symptoms first started getting noticed, I would tell a few people that I posted on a bipolar forum. But I didn't say which one. And I even use a different username than what I normally use online. Now I wouldn't want anyone to know what I post here. It's my little secret.

I've told a few people about the site, that it's an excellent sorce of info....but that I post in the forums, no....my username, God no.

No one in real life knows my username and no one on PC knows my real name except the administration...I like it that way.

I don't mind if they know (I printed a post to put in my file, about my history and concept of BPD, so they could do a textual search), but I don't want them to ever know I know they know (even a suspicion bordering on epiphany so strong will not bring me to ask them).

I see it as an island that can only be seen by those with BP. In many ways, that will always be true: it requires first-hand experience to really know what we write about, because we are not translating for them.

Same goes for those that are in doubt about possible BP: just observe, and you'll know. If you can see the beauty of the island and feel accepted, you know you found a bit of home.

I think my husband knows I post here, but he doesn't particularly have any curiosity about it. Other than him, I don't know that anyone is aware I post on PC. It isn't something I share with others; no reason to really.

Yes, I was infected with this illness too when I came here.

That vaccine is long overdue.

As someone who really got jerked around on a diagnosis while in treatment, this means a lot to me.

I don't talk to pdoc. She pretty much just fills my scripts n kicks me out. No small talk. My bf knows and knows my username because he saw my tapatalk app. He knows I post in BP and knows I bring up our issues here too. He likes that I have this place as a support system. And I'm sure he likes that I dump all my issues here and not on him lol. Just like me and my male friend who is also BP and known each other for over ten years. My bf trusts it and knows I need the support from someone that understands. I think I got lucky there.

I don't think I've ever mentioned it. My loved ones don't really care much about my online life, which is just the way I like it.
