I see my pdoc every 1-2 months. It's because we're trying out different medications right now... but at one point, I would see him every 2 weeks! (That's when I was totally unstable.)
Hopefully I'll get to a point where we only see each other every 6 months... but I heard that my counseling office requires you to check in every 2-3 months, so we'll see. I see my T every 2 weeks, but I'm thinking about changing to once a month. I feel like 2 weeks is too often. |

I see my psychiatrist once every 6-8 weeks. I am stable but we discuss increasing, adding or deleting medication depending upon the time of year since I also have SAD. I see my t every 2 weeks. I could probably switch to once a month but I choose to do every 2 weeks because I still get something out of it each time I go. When a crisis comes up I schedule once a week.
It sounds like you are doing well if you are thinking of extending your time between visits. I am happy for you.

What medication changes do you make for SAD? I'm curious. Is there a certain medication you take that worsens your SAD? |

This time it will be six months.
Doesn't matter. She. Sees me only for the time it takes her to write scripts. When I'm stateside, I go to my weekly DBSA support group.

I don't have a pdoc, just a nurse practitioner. I go to her whenever I'm out of refills on my meds.
The last time I was to a T was probably around July 2014. She seemed to think I was fine, so she let me go. She's the one that gave me (confirmed) a diagnosis early on in the sessions and then at the last session she said I don't know what you are, I'm not a very good diagnostician. After that, I was just fed up and didn't seek any other help. Sometimes I wonder if I should be more aggressive about treatment, but life hasn't fallen apart without it. When symptoms start interfering with life, maybe I'll do more. Which might be a bad idea because by then I might not have the wherewithal to choose good qualified provider and end up in a similar situation. Right now my reasons for not going are I'm too lazy to go do anything that's not necessary and since there doesn't seem to be a lot of openings in mental health offices around here, I justify it by saying that there are people out there who need the appointments a lot more than I do. Also I don't want to get dependant on med changes and all the crazy side effects that go along with that. When something happens that I need help with, I just come here.

I see my T every week and my pdoc every other week. The week I don't see him I have a check-in on the phone, but I'm thinking of quitting those check-ins. They are not terribly useful to me.

It's free! So it's pretty much a life savor. She's so hard to get an appointment with to begin with. My previous pdoc would have me come into the office for most med changes and/or issues. And $$$ adds up!

For T, just changed from weekly, to every 3 weeks. For Pdoc, just changed from every 2 - 4 weeks, to every 6 weeks. I'm coping better, and am more balanced.

I see my pdoc once a month since I'm on a monthly injection. Just recently moved here and am still getting set up with a social worker/therapist. I'm also starting a day treatment program which meets at least 3 days a week and has various groups.
