Anyone have this problem? I feel a bit weak today, light headed and dizzy. Day 8 on Effexor. Started at 37.5 and now on 75 as of yesterday.

I felt like that when I first started on Zoloft. Never had Effexor though.

Sometimes people feel side effects like that when there is an increase in a dosage. Your body probably needs to adjust to the increase. I've been on it so long, I can't remember if that happened to me. But something similar happened with my Wellbutrin increase a while ago.

It seems to me that a number of psych meds cause that lightheaded feeling. In my experience the ssri's do.

I take effexor and that happens to me every time the doc raises my dosage.
I would always adjust after about a week to two weeks.
The doc raised me from 225mg which I was doing fine with to 300mg
which is the max dose. That was the first time I could not adjust.
I was feeling awful for weeks and I called the doc and he put back down to 225mg.
I am having some trouble readjusting to the lower dose but I think it will pass.

I use to be obsessed with food, like I think before I started meds again I was self medicating with food. Especially anything with sugar. Now, I barely think of eating. I ate breakfast this morning, had lunch around 11:30 or 12, and now it's almost 9pm and I had a bowl of cereal around 6 but other than that I haven't eaten. I am pretty hungry, just nothing sounds good so I probably won't bother. It's a good thing, maybe it'll actually help me lose this weight.
Being hungry probably doesn't help the weakness issue though.

A lot of psych meds can cause dehydration so make sure you're still getting lots of fluids. I say that because I get lightheaded when I'm dehydrated.

Yea I just downed a huge glass of water, I feel a bit better. Will have to make sure to drink more. Now that I think of it, I don't think I have drank any water today. I had a smoothie for breakfast with almond milk, and pepsi with lunch. I just didn't really feel thirsty.

Effexor hasn't caused dizziness for me. But like Queen says, I'm very well hydrated all day.
