Did Lithium mess anyone's stomach up? I just started yesterday, but after today's dose I'm finding myself glued to the bathroom. Could this be the Lithium?

Lithium hasn't given me any stomach problems personally but I believe I've read somewhere that nausea and diahreah is a common side effect for many people.

I didn't have nausea problems until my dose was raised to 900mg. I'm on 600mg now and feel fine

It is the Lithium. It gives you the shits. Lower your dose if the shrink lets you.

Yes, it is a common side effect. I take it at night to skip the nausea, sometimes it still gives me trouble. I think there is more than one brand/manufacturer, you might see about switching.

It could be, lithium for me when i started made me insanely nauseated as well as when it was raised while i was inpatient. It ended up making me go all vasovagal response the second time and pass out to which i hit a piece of furniture in the ward and had a nice shiner.

Lithium kept me In the bathroom all day everyday from the very beginning. Like, it seriously effected my life lol. I couldn't go anywhere unless there was a restroom and I tried every med for it and nothing helped (even Imodium which is the most effective for diarrhea). So yea, that's my experience with lithium and the porcelain throne.

However I stayed on it because it really helped with my mood but I ended up getting toxicity. My stomach problems weren't from toxicity though seeing as my labs were coming back normal during that time.

Yup. When I first started it gave me nausea and the runs. I also take it at night and when I first started I was up all night, running back and forth to the bathroom.
