I googled reasons why people "Deactivate" their Face Book account, and found there were a number of reasons listed. To deactivate just means people can't see your Facebook any longer, and I can't recall what else. I also read more and more FB accounts are being deactivated. You can reactivate your FB account any time, and you will be back again with all your friends. Then there is a way to permanently remove yourself, but you may not be able to get back in.

Think No. 1 reason listed was people just decided they were spending too much time on FB. Then some just got to thinking much of the post were a waste of time to look at. Then some felt reading about others being so happy in many ways just made them feel sad. There were other reasons.

Think I had a "bipolar" emotion, and just went ahead, and did it. Actually I have yet to miss FB. I had hundreds to friends I actually knew nothing about at all. I think I feel more relaxed now.

Some of the bipolar on-line groups I hardly visit any more. It's actually not too fun reading about others, and their problems. Just doesn't set my mood well.

Think I will be able to carry on without any emotional FB pain

I've come and gone from FB so many times that I'm like that line in the Boy George Song ...

... I come and go ... I come and go-a-whoa-whoa ...

You have to do what you need to take care of yourself.

Personally, I love FB and have no need or desire to deactivate it at this point.

Like a Karma Pfrogmeleon?

I dumped FB years ago. Never looked back. No reason to.
Welcome, fellow rebel! (Heehee! ) Enjoy your newfound freedom, tipper!

I deactivated mine for similar reasons. The main reason I don't deleted it completely is because there are some family members that I can only reach on Facebook and want to be able to reach them if I need to. Otherwise the day to day nonsense can be overwhelming and I waste too much time on there and eventually get anxiety. I'm over it.
