I don't like "hon". "Mate" is really overused between men. But I use it. I don't particularly wanna hear "bird" or "lass" or similar words.

I use flippin(g) too much. I try to alternate between that and f**ing or effing or bloody. I like bloody.

I use "like" a ton along with a bunch of other random useless words and slang i probably am not aware of. I live in a part of the US where proper grammar and speaking is not very high on the priority list... If at all lol. I'm sure most of you would recognize my accent and mines not even that bad compred to a lot of people here.

I really can't stand "like" as an introduction of a rhetorical question or as a completely unnecessary filler, like anything. I mean, like, what are you like?

I use basically a lot, but I try to use it meaningfully.
No need for criticism. Thank you.

It tells you nothing about the person. It's just my reaction to a word and phrase. If you like it, do use it. Differences in preferences and use of words is actually great.

But it does irritate me. Maybe because I've heard it said too much. I don't know. I am a linguist. That might just be it. Oversensitive.

Like, what the ****? Seriously? You can't be upset about that. Use it! It's awesome if you do, don't care. Awesome sauce!

It's just an effing word.

I am just a bit conservative and probably a bit chauvinist about the English language.

I say "little" a lot. Apparently men don't like that.

And I say "cute" a lot. Apparently women don't like that.

Lefty says Nickelback. I don't like that!

Typical usages:

"This sale has gone totally Nickelback."

"The entire Japanese market is pretty Nickelback right now."

"Sh_t's Nickelback,yo."

"We're going to take a loss on this contract after all that time and work; that's stone-cold Nickelback."

"F_cking Nickleback, you know?"

I also overuse "nonlinear". which I picked up years ago from my cousin, who designs combat radar systems for Raytheon, which is *****in' Nickelback.
