I'm coming out of it. Not in good shape though.
Nausea, vomit and diarrhea for three days can stop the best of us.
The bad part passed, and I passed to my wife.
She's out there working. Showing more balls than her husband.
Only she doesn't have bipolar.
I hafta deal with the sickness. And substance balance.

I didn't take the meds for three days. They would have gone to waste anyway.
Maybe I should have. I feel I've lost a lot of terrain. Semi-depressed now.

Is it worth taking the meds when nothing holds in your stomach?.

I think a little is better than nothing. When my kids are sick, they still get their meds in hopes they will at least get some.
When a stomach virus hits our home, I make a makeshift bed for the kids on the bathroom floor. I learned the hard way, it doesn't matter if they are 5 or 15 they can't make it to the toilet.
For me, I'm stuck taking care of sick kids while I'm sick also

Depending on your meds, you might check in with your doctor about the best way to restart them. I had a stomach virus once and was not on meds for about 5 days (so a bit longer) and my pdoc had a plan for titrating back up again. It wasn't a long titration, but he didn't want me to start up at full dose immediately either.

You didn't specify which meds you're on. You should be able to figure out which might cause problems for you. Personally, I don't think you're at risk if you take them -- or try. I'm no doctor, though.

Happy you're feeling better, p.

If it were me I'd just start taking them again.

This is what I did:
Went three days only taking the sleep meds. Risking an accident. I lost.
.35 mg xanax, 15mg remeron and 25 mg trazodone.
What I didn't take: 600mg of lithium and 50mg lamotrigine.
And no supplements: Fish oil, magnesium, B-complex, C, D and E. I take everything at night.
Gonna restart the lithium and the lamo tonight. The amounts are not big.
I already took the supplements, since my stomach is Too well now.

My main concern was what to do during the crisis. Never thought about the restart.
Which is as important. Or maybe even more when someone is taking large amounts.
Your guidance is good schooling. Thank you All for your help.
Piri.

Lamictal is one that if your off for 3 days or more you need to restart at a lower dose and move back up as to reduce your risk of SJS. Best to ask your Pdoc or at least the pharmacist about that.

Hope your feeling better soon
