My T has been saying for the last few weeks I need to sleep more ... well she must have got thru to my pdoc ... because he ordered me doxepin ... I took 100 mg last night .... six hours .. then a bathroom break ... then 5 hours more .... it is now 16 hours and I am still groggy .... be careful what you wish for ...

gonna cut that cap down a bit ... but at least it works .... been asking for a sleep med for years ... this is the first one that has really worked ... just need to get the dose figured out ... it is true a T carries more weight than anything I have ever said ....

it is possibable to get "too much" of a good thing ... a good conversation starter at my next T session ....

I think asking ur T to talk to pdoc about things is a great idea. Mine have known each other 40 years (no kidding) so I'd do it in a flash.

It probably will get less sedating with a few doses. It did for me when I've taken it (two times several years apart).

Unfortunate how it works, but glad it did!

Sleep is really the most important thing. Depression and no sleep is torture.

Just give yourself an extra hour (or two) to really wake up after you get up.

It sounds like your new T is really working with you! Sometimes the first dose of a new drug can really knock you out, like what Rainbow mentioned. Which is why I try and take new meds and/or dosages over the weekend just in case. Hope you get it all worked out!

Glad you finally got some much needed sleep. I would imagine that your body needs to adjust to the medication.. Doubtful that you will continue getting huge amounts of sleep.

I say stick with it as prescribed and see how things go over the next few weeks.

Yay for sleep

I was prescribed a sleeping pill once but it made it to difficult to function. Hopefully it is working better for you.

Of course, you might have slept that much because you're exhausted and you needed it. Just sayin' .... don't play with the sleep med dose too much until you've given it a couple of days.

I once got a sleep med and was out for most of a weekend because my body was that tired. It can happen.

Now, I'm lucky to get 6 hours a night and then once a week or so I sleep more to catch up... but I'm 54 years old and this might be part of getting old!
