It's metaforin or something like that.
I've gained a lot and I swim every week.
I have a Pdoc appointment coming up and I want to ask her about the med to lose or control weight.
I know it's the seraquel, but I think it's the Temazepam too.
I eat homemade food and control my portions. I'm up to between size 16-18.
Especially my bust line.
In the states my clothes are size8-10.
So I went on eBay and bought a bunch of slimming slips and dresses.
No room in the closet though.
I want to lose weight and firm up. My girlfriends ,one likes walking and the other swimming. Plus I'll walk to my support group next Wed.

The bad news is I started smoking after I cracked my tooth. Now this Friday I will need to quit. As I'm flying all day and don't want to smoke in California.

Still considering that low THC pot with the high other content. They say they use it for seizures. I've been on plenty of seizure Meds for bipolar. There are a lot of bipolar and depression suffering people who are saying good things about the special pot.
Hope everything is good for my forum friends. Been busy packing and online shopping.
Much love!

Yes, metformin. It's a diabetes drug that when taken with APs, can cause weight loss. However my brother takes it for his diabetes and is still a little overweight so I don't think it works for everyone

I was on Metformin (to counteract side effects of seroquel) and indeed lost weight. As soon as I was put on citalopram however, I gained it all back and then some. My next pdoc visit, I plan to ask about discontinuing the citalopram.

It doesn't usually cause weight loss when used for diabetes; that magical effect goes with APs.

I'm going to go on it soon I think. My understanding is that it doesn't always cause weight loss but can help prevent further gain and sometimes causes loss, especially combined with exercise.

What are you referring to when you say APs? (Sorry...I'm dumb!)

My daughter is bipolar and overweight. She's really depressed about it. I'm wondering if this might help her too.

Ok, got it! My daughter is taking Lamictil and says it is helping her appetite a little...but she still has tendencies to binge. I don't know if it's out of habit or what, but this is something to ask her Psychologist next time. Thanks for the clarification.
