You know like an allergy. I've had so much allergies that now as I am older are gone or are lowered down. I used to get a reaction just by being near ketchup yet again I loved eating tomatoes.. can we talk about weird allergies? No.. yea you are right..
Anyways, can I live through Bipolar.. or is it something that will be a part of me (if it is BD)

My illness has gotten more severe these past few years but I haven't stayed on top of my treatment plan. I think some people will have a reduction in symptoms and some an increase. All you need to do is stay on top of your treatment and you may not see another manic or depressive episode. Or you might still see them but will gain insight and coping strategies to help. I will I had a concrete answer to your question. ((Hugs)). I've got allergies as an adult and it sucks.

I used to get bad allergies when I was in high school. Not so much anymore unless the pollen count is extremely high. You never know!

I used to go into coma after staying more than 6 hours under medium sunlight. After that I grew onto have a few seizures now and then, and then fainting and now I am just into extreme irritability the occasional throat blockage and the constant sneezing. Also my skin gets extremely dry and painful. But it is better than falling into coma.. So yeah I am pretty sure that most things do get better with time. Be it with treatment or a shot on the bum.

BP is usually for life and it actually tends to get worse if untreated. A lot of people think they can "outgrow" or "beat" BP but most research suggests BP acts something like alcoholism. People go through good times and say "hey I'm doing good, I'll have a drink" and then they fall back into hard times. I have a good friend who is all sorts of MI with drugs, alcohol, and other behaviors and he's warned me not to let my guard down.

So I was popping in and out of the forum throughout the day and posting while I was working. I think I completely missed the point of this post....

But you gave me the chance to share this random bit of trivia....a lot of psych meds work on receptors for histamines and therefore being on psych meds should lower your allergic responses because you are always on allergy meds.

Not perfect, I have fairly severe asthma and take a med that helps with asthma AND allergies daily and I need it but I rarely need zyrtec anymore. Pre-psych meds I was on it for about 4-5 months per year. APs and some ADs more than other drugs. And of course hydroxyzine actually is an allergy drug...

I certainly thought I was cured after puberty (or a bit after) but it turns out I was just in remission. It came back with a vengeance.

Oh nice! But I grew out of the allergies before all the lovely psych meds I started taking
