Are there antipsychotics other than Latuda that help depression (either from clinical trials or personal testimony)?

Thanks!

Seroquel did for me for a long time but eventually it just quit working (after the dose sliding up to 1200 mg over many years). Abilify and Geodon are both supposed to be good for depression.

Saphris seems to be keeping me from deep depression, although I do take Lithium as well.

APs didn't help me so much with the depressive side of things (but that's just me, personally). I'm usually on an antidepressant when depressed (although not all pdocs would agree with that)

I've taken seroquel, zyprexa and ability, all for unipolar depression. It didn't help me any, but it does help other people.

Risperidal worked really well for me but I couldn't tolerate the side effects. I now take Geodon and Brintellix and have a pretty good balance.

Seroquel works well for depression and for sleep. Though I suggest you take it before bedtime because otherwise you will be zonked out.

Seroquel is my anchor for keeping me too high or too low. I've been on it for years.
We are adding in new drugs to help, but the seroquel keeps my sleep schedule the same which is my number one issue to keep from spiralling out of control.

I had a bad reaction to saphrits that caused paranoia. Abilify made me groggy.

Seroquel helps me with depression, mood stability in general, and for sleep most of the time.

Thanks for all the replies! My pdoc decided to try me on Abilify. After one dose yesterday, so far, so good! I can already tell a big difference (I've stopped worrying/obsessing)! We'll see how things go over the next couple weeks.

I am taking risperdal, not a very high dosage. Wondering what side effects did you experience.

Thanks

Does Saphris make you sleepy during the day? Geodon in the beginning 6 years ago did that to me at 20mg. Now I take 240mg and nothing happens. I think I need to switch and it looks like only Saphris is weight neutral. Only take in PM? Thoughts?

Thanks!

I'm taking Abilify now. It seems to help. All the other ones prolong my QT rhythm, which is basically bad news for my heart.

Saphris makes you very sleepy. I'm on 40 mg and I take it only at night. I've been on Saphris around 5 years, and have lost a smidgen of weight. I also take lithium.
Thanks for this!

I was put on Risperidone while manic and I was afraid it would plummet me into depression. They told me it helps with depression and I was lucky and did not go from my usual manic to depressed. The side effects are too much for long term use and I'm being switched back to Latuda slowly right now.

I am on rexulti and it has helped me quite a bit. I have tried latuda, abilify, geodon, zyprexa, seroquel, fanapt, and saphris and this has less side effects and is more effective for me. But, of course, everyone is different.

Yeah, I only take it at bedtime and wake up fine the next. I don't have any grogginess or anything other side effects.
