I've been seeing dark shadows and movement out of the corner of my eyes lately. It's happened before but not for a long time and it was at times when I had little insight into BP so don't know what kind of cycle I might have been in. Am I 'seeing things' or is this just a normal variation of life? Have any of you experienced this?

(sorry if the text size is too large or small, I've been having a hard time with this lately).

Yeah, it's a hallucination in my opinion

I was hearing voices this morning, if it makes you feel any better. They were very commanding. And before you ask, nope, I'm not manic.

I'm thinking about trying a different antipsychotic to make the hallucinations go away, since Latuda isn't doing a good job of that

I get that as well. I'll see shadow figures or bugs scurrying across the floor out of the corners of my eyes. I do associate it somewhat with hallucinating. It seems I'm always in depression when I experience it. Not sure that it's the mood state so much as it is lack of sleep for an extended period of time.

I see bugs too! Lack of sleep sounds like a likely culprit. I'm just beginning to come out of a nasty case of flu, but I'm hesitant to dx flu-induced hallucinations!

I've been depressed lately, maybe that's it. I hope it goes away soon, though it's more distracting than anything.

It's probably from lack of sleep, very common actually

OMG I experience the same thing when I'm manic! As a kid I used to see figures and people out of the corner of my eyes and I though that it was wierd. Then the movie "the Sixth Sense" came out and I thought that it was dead people.

I still see shadows and figures and people and I hear things that aren't there. I see faces and eyes on shadows at night. It's really bad. This also happens when I've been sleeping normally.

I've never heard anyone else talk about this so thank you all. I thought I was alone.

I have that when I'm doing very poorly, either severely depressed or mixed. It used to happen constantly when I was about 14/15 when I was sick, and again at 18/19 when I was very ill. I haven't been that I'll since I started Invega though.

This happens to me too, but I thought maybe it was the way the light was striking my glasses since I would see these things from the corner of my eye...
But I still turn around each time and second guess myself

I see this also, movement from the corner of my eyes. It can be distressing, I been having problem with sleep lately. Maybe that the reason it's happening a lot a the moment. I also see things running across the room. But when I look again nothing is there.

I get this too. Shadowy figures running past out of the corner of my eye. Always happens when I'm sleep deprived and it always startles me.

Since I've been slogging through a terrible case of the flu, I've been sleeping a TON. But I'm not convinced they're hallucinations either, just don't know.

Yes I've had this off and on. I had it a lot when I started Lamictal a couple years ago, but it hasn't happened in a long time. It's large shadows that seem like people and also little dark spots that move like bugs in my peripheral vision.

I've always wondered if people without bipolar experience this?

I think it's related to sleep deprivation, more an illusion than hallucination

That's a good question.

Maybe I'll ask one of my coworkers.

(haha. Or maybe not. Or maybe I will. They already probably think I'm a lunatic anyway.)

I see things out of my periphery all the time. I often feel like it's a person or an animal, but when I turn it's gone. Maybe some branches in sunlight or something. I just figure it's a reflection of light from something that my brain is trying to make sense of.

ETA: It does bother me, though.
