What is your favorite hobby that helps you cope with your BP?

I actually have 2: kayaking and biking. I find both activities very relaxing, and it really helps me to have a breath of fresh air sometimes instead of staying locked up in my room all day wallowing in misery.

What are your favorite hobbies? I'm looking for some new hobbies myself, and I hope this thread helps other people

Painting and nordic walking.
I love different kinds of crafts, but I can't really do that as it triggers me. I have too many ideas and my head starts to spin around.

I read. A lot. I have hundreds of books in print and on my Kindle. Reading helps me escape from reality.

I also color sometimes. I like to "adult color" really complicated things because it takes my mind's complete concentration to do so.

I wish I were more active, in fact, and keep trying to add physical exercise to my coping mechanisms, but I just don't LIKE it.

I like photography. It gets me out of myself. I then retouch what I like and post it on Flickr.

discovering new music.

it's always so much fun- i like using last.fm to find artists like who i listen to- then i spend the next hour or so checking them out!

i also love online gaming. not just trivia and crosswords (though that is the majority of the stuff i like), but i love playing things against others

I'm learning the cello. It's very relaxing when I am calm enough to practice. Canoeing and hiking and camping are my go tos for relaxation when I'm all jittery, but t says I have to focus on one thing and stop buying stuff for different hobbies 😤 art and writing help express myself but that can lead me down a rabbit hole that ends in psychosis lol

This is me! Haha. I have like thousands of music collection. Do you use spotify too? I used to play online games last time. Now I'm an avid American TV show watcher, calms down my hypomania. I also play the guitar when I'm feeling down. Gym every other day for a happy boost. I sing and it really helps with my depression.

Shooting and Cartridge Reloading-

The focus and discipline it take to perform both of these activities safely and successfully helps keep me grounded, and I find it very relaxing.

Playing my Irish flute and whistle, singing. Strength training, walking, elliptical and swimming. Observation drawing. Non-fiction writing. I really love creative arts, but I haven't found a way to work that doesn't trigger a high or low mood. I love art and it's very activating. I'm trying different ways to approach creative expression and stay balanced.

I have a hard time sticking with any one hobby all the time. Right now I am mostly reading, going to the pool, and watching videos from the Supernatural conventions.

I also like to play guitar, listen to music, draw/color, and cross-stitch. Haven't done these things in awhile though. I'm sure I will again at some point.

Well, I find it really hard to do my hobbies. Life limitations have all but eliminated my undertaking them (kayaking and hiking). As for other activities like art or creative pastimes they are effected a great deal by medication and bringing me down from hypo/mania.

So, I find that keeping myself busy with the ocassional volunteer shift is keeping me sane.

Reading and learning about new things. I read a lot about psychology, but any subject is fair game. I'm a student at heart.

These aren't hobbies, but I love spending time with my daughter, my boyfriend and my cats.

I love fashion especially handbags. And I love nailpolish and makeup.

I used to read a lot until my BP got worse. Now I'm lucky if I can get through one page and even then I can't remember what I read. I miss reading but since that's not an option I hike, canoe, and work on projects at home. I have so many unfinished projects.
