I played Russian Roulette with psychologists.

First time I played, I lost the game because I got a stupid psychologist who never listened to me. She was also dumber and more annoying than the crusty bird s*** stuck to my SUV windshield.

Second time I played, I totally won. He has been my current psychologist ever since.

A close friend who is a social worker recommended my current therapist. I had been through many awful T's but this one has been amazing. So thankful to have him.

Have none. Never will. I have policies preventing me to speak about anything personal.
If I find one willing to exchange info about poker, I'm game.

Called around until i got someone who didnt have a crazy long wait to be seen.
I love my pdoc!
My t was a recommendation from eap from work. She wasnt good. Found a new one on pdoc recommendation.
Ive seen a ton of pdocs in the past who were just so uncaring and would have me wait in the office an hour past apt. time and give me 10 mins then push me out the door. Those are the worst. My current pdoc will talk as long as i need and answers every question i have

Mine was assigned to me by my HMO when I went in for alcoholism three years ago. He's fine with addiction stuff but doesn't know much about BP. His focus is CBT and DBT, both of which are good for BP, so I'm good with him for now.

As part of my benefits package, my work covers six sessions with a private psychologist of my choice, and I'd like to see one specifically for managing BP while working, but it will take some research to find a good one. I only have six sessions and don't want to waste them on someone who doesn't know what they're doing.

I met my current therapist through the same company as my previous therapist. We've been working together since August 2011, so I guess that's a good thing.

I'm lucky all the T's and psychologists I've had I've lucked into and they were good. Only one was on recommendations the rest were just luck.

Pdocs, not so lucky. A couple of Pdocs were recommended and they were good but the rest were hit and miss.

I don't have the money or the insurance to be selective.

Mine was recommended through my employee help line when I was still working.
I was very lucky, its been a few years and would not change.
She is wonderful.

My PDOCS are assigned to me via the hospital my insurance is through. I can put in requests for things like a man, women or secular... Thinks like that, but mostly, it's random. I've been with my current PDOC for a few years.

I did recently start seeing a family therapist who I found via a psychology website.

I found mine by calling one office and they didn't take my insurance so the second one took it. I got really lucky. But I still deal with the crazy s*** in my head but at least I have someone to listen a bit.
