I want to ask her if its okay to continue my medication while still smoking weed. But I am scared that because weed is illegal in here, she will call the police on me. Or they don't have rights to do so?

No. Patient confidentiality. Don't panic!

My counselor told me that she can only call the cops if I tell her about a crime being committed (like specific details) or if someone is in immediate danger. She may however stop prescribing you medication if she is one of those people who is against marijuana and thinks it would be a bad combo with whatever else you're taking. I personally would research it online because you can probably find out if it's a safe combination. In my experience, marijuana is generally safe when mixed with most other substances. It could intensify the effects of other things or may not be as effective if you're taking something that blocks it.

If you don't want your T to know ask a pharmacist about interactions.

One concern -- being in Bulgaria, might the laws be different?

We don't really follow the law.. that's why I am worried. Because it might say that it is forbidden but she still might call them.

I wouldn't imagine the cops would be called.

My pdoc told me if I do speed and I'm driving she'll report it to the driving licence authority - and she didn't mention police. And that's speed. I don't do speed, by the way.

Your pdoc is only supposed to call the authorities if you're a danger to yourself or others.... and I assume that smoking weed doesn't make you homicidal or suicidal. You're good for wanting to tell your pdoc about it though, and things should be fine.

Actually weed helped me more than the anti-psychotics themselves.. That's why I want to tell her.

No. HIPAA laws are so strict when it comes to patient confidentiality...especially in the mental health field. The only time things are reportable when it comes to crimes is if you said you were going to harm someone or anything involving needing a call to DYFS. With big criminal cases, a therapist can get a subpoena asking to testify, but even with those, therapists/psychiatrists go lengths to protect the client to avoid having to release information. Or there is "minimal disclosure" in ethics...where they will only release what they need to, if a judge does not honor their request to not release info in response to subpoena. I work in the field, actually. You have nothing to worry about.

Since the OP lives in another country there laws can not be compared to the US.

Personally I would just not offer up that info to my Pdoc or T unless you are looking for help to stop using.
