What percent of the time do you get depression, mixed, and hypo/mania? I'm just curious about you guys.

Me --

Depression - 50%
Mixed - 30%
Hypo/mania - 20%

-------

Edit: If you include stability --

Depression - 40%
Mixed - 24%
Hypo/mania - 16%
Stable - 20%

Oh. I wasn't thinking about stability, so that's a good point.

I'm stable 20% of the time. My hypo/mania includes psychosis. But my numbers are from when I'm in an episode maybe I'll fix the numbers later

depressed- 70%
hypo- 10%
mixed- 10%
stable- 10%

wouldn't it be interesting if the diagnosis changed depending on % of time spent in each state? i always thought it to be a bit odd that 1 manic/hypomanic episode qualified the BP diagnosis without taking into consideration the full picture.

Not sure if that is accurate, considering i'm not on a stabilizer, but that's what it feels like.

It's hard to say, but if I were to guess over the past year....

Depression: 30%
Hypomanic: 10%
Manic: 10%
Mixed: 35%
Stable: 15%

Varies in intensity though....sometimes it'll be a full-blown episode, other times the symptoms are causing me enough trouble to not be considered "stable" or well, but I'm somewhat managing. I get some psychotic symptoms during the mania or mixed states only about 1% of the time now (over the past year) now that I usually pick up on it early enough to tell the pdoc, then she adjusts the meds to nip it in the bud.

I'm not sure how I could describe them in percentages because I get all 3 in one go, one after the other...I am manic/hypomanic for several weeks then dip down into a mixed for several weeks at which point I realize something is wrong, see my dr and then soon crash into depression for several weeks until i come back to a stable point. In 2013, I spent from March until the end of May in one of these episodes, then again from September until mid Dec. I was like this for a number of years prior to that, always seemed to coincide with spring and fall.

I have no idea. How do you all know for sure? Any apps or tools you utilize ...please share if you don't mind. I can tell deep depression and sometimes mixed. Maybe.

How do you know it's an episode? Or just great days or lousy days? My insight is poor.
