Anyone ever suffer an overwhelming feeling of depression during work out of nowhere? I'm contemplating how I ended up where I'm at and if it'll ever get better.

Well, I've been feeling pretty depressed since about 11 today. It didn't really come out of nowhere, though. Adderall sent me into a 1-week mania, and now the crash begins

Everyone at work keeps commenting about it, but I just tell them I'm tired. The they leave me alone

I don't want to play the devil's advocate. But you really have not been in the right Addy.
XR is ****, as you already know. IR on the contrary, can be controlled to 1mg at the time.
Even if Addy doesn't work for you, try Vyvance or Modafinil. You need to take care of your ADHD.
I rather get a little hyper than live in LaLaland.

I took 20mg of Adderall. I didn't know Adderall came in smaller doses. I was almost prescribed 40mg too.

I think we're going to try Strattera, or at least that's the idea. (Not my decision.) No idea if it's complete s*** or not.

Well... the Skeezyks is old enough now that he's no longer working... could still be... but I'm not. (Actually, I gave up working a long time ago.) But during the years I was working, depression was a constant companion. Sometimes it was manageable... sometimes it was almost overwhelming... I also carried around a large load of stress / anxiety. I chose my vocational path poorly & was never able to get out of the rut... until I finally gave up altogether...

I broke down in tears at work a few times. Mostly, I'd get through the day (somehow) and wait till I hit the freeway. (It was right next to work). I didn't want my coworkers to pull up beside me, but once I hit the freeway I'd start bawling hysterically. I never accomplished much while depressed. Just the bare minimum to keep from being noticed. It was hard. My heart goes out to you. Sometimes, if I had vacation left, I'd book a few days and take a 4 day weekend to rest. Be kind to yourself and good luck.

IR comes in 10 and 20 mg in a pill that you can split. Maybe 5mg too. Not sure.
Capsules can't be pulled apart. A 1/4 of a 10mg is good enough to be felt by us, Addy allergics.

Thanks. All I do though outside of work is sleep. I've missed the gym several times already and don't even watch tv.

Do you have a friend you could bring with you to the gym? Friends can be great motivators

I seem to deal with a depression bout at least once a week at work. Today was one of those days.

Yes- I get horrible depression at work. I often have to avoid eye contact or look down to make sure people don't see me cry at my desk.

I'm the same way. Another thing I do is go into the bathroom.

I used to get depressed at work, too. Eventually it got really bad and I was in a mixed episode and completely psychotic at work. Rough times.

Sorry that you are going through that. Depression during work happens to me too. I work in an office, and when I'm not with people, there are times I just start crying out of nowhere. I wish there was an easy answer, and I guess the work environment also plays a role in it....and the amount of pressure. I can most certainly relate. It's hard to keep working when feeling that way....same when symptoms get "mixed," because it becomes sort of an agitated depression/dysphoric mania. Hang in there! It comes and goes for me, but it's definitely worth bringing up to the pdoc.

I recomend getting a cat... a cat that meows all the time and won't shut up.

I hope you feel better soon.

Cats cheer EVERYONE up.

Well I feel better now. My pdoc upped my cymbalta back to 120. Hopefully this small tweak will work. Thanks all.
