It's a side effect of clozaril and generally is fine if I were an incontinence product. But I forgot one last night and the risk is worse now because I have bronchitis which makes my asthma worse and that means every time I flip onto my back I start an asthma attack that doesn't stop until I wake up and get something cold. It also happens if I need to pee but am in a deep sleep. I'll feel myself start to pee and wake up and run to the bathroom.

I can't believe I forgot my pad. At least it didn't actually make it to wetting the bed. I'm dogsitting at my mom's and keeping a big blanket under me just in case.

Someone asked about most embarrassing side effets00==here's mine.

Bleh.

I just wish I could get it fully ingrained in my routine. I think it's hard to accept that I'm going to wet the bed at my age so I avoid making it a habit.

I guess I'll learn eventually. Love the drug, hate a few side effects.

I can understand about the incontinence - I have it too, a little bit. I've been practicing my kegels and it's helped a lot. I highly recommend doing kegels if you have any incontinence issues. I'm in my mid-50s and my doc thinks it's happened because of menopause. You can also get an estrogen cream to spead on your vulva area to help with this. Maybe these things will help you even though it's a medical side effect.

Have you seen your family doctor about this? My problem isn't at night but during the day. I have difficulty holding my bladder as a result I am constantly going. Still, I trickle often.

I've gone to my doctor and psychiatrist. The later doesn't think it is from medication. The doctor has chalked it up to a medical problem

Well, this will not solve your problem and will sound stupid.
I would prefer being a 40yr old bedwetter than a 66yr old ole fart.

I don't have any other options so I deal with this or suffer miserably with bipolar. I get movement disorders from APs and my pdoc feels I've been through any that might not cause them. Plus this is WORKING and that's been a long, hard battle so I deal with the side effects.

I am doing kegels. I can't use any hormone products b/c they make me manic. This wouldn't respond anyway; what happens is that my bladder gets full and I'm too sound asleep to wake up and go to the bathroom. It would help if I didn't need a lot of meds to fall asleep but I do and then once I'm asleep I'm really asleep. It also is triggered by asthma which makes me cough hard if I happen to roll onto my back, which seems to happen nightly. Eventually we'll be able to try lowering my dose which might help but I have to remain stable for a while first.

This is a common side effect of clozaril. I did check in with my family dr since it seemed to correlate with asthmatic coughing; he just told me to use my inhaler a bit differently which helped until I got bronchitis recently. That's still clearing up so I'm still coughing more than usual.

thanks for all th suggestions!
