Wondering if there is meds for the derealization aspect of bipolar. Mine is over the top, difficult to manage, unbearable, and etc. I need some hope here.

I haven't heard of any, but maybe meds that help with anxiety or depression could help if they are contributing to the derealization?

What do you mean derealization? Disconnection from reality? I found that the right mood stabilizer was key for that.

I get terrible derealizatiion, especially when stressed. Taking Klonopin for a few days really helps me because it tones down the anxiety and brings me back to earth.

Lamictal has been amazing for that and depersonalization for me. Other than that I always hear people say you just have to find whatever med will take care of your anxiety and depression and that will help, but I don't think that that's always true. I've also heard Klonopin helps a lot of people, though it doesn't do much in that way for me.

Powder Sarcosine. My husband uses it. He is Schizophrenic but it does help with negative symptoms.

I needed an antipsychotic but I had a lot of symptoms going on. I was already on a mood stabilizer, ADs, and a benzo.

P.S.: If anyone gets disassociation, where you feel and can see your body floating away from you....tell your pdoc ASAP. I had this happen to me while driving. I felt like I'd floated out of my body to the ceiling of my car and I was looking down.

I couldn't feel the gas pedal or brakes at all. It was terrifying and I'm still grateful I safely got to the side of the road.

Sorry if this hijacked....derealization and disassociation often occur together.

I've had that happen to me a few times. Have come very close to rear ending people.
