Mania kills cells. Brain cells die. Memories become more reduced conceptually, making more efficient use of limited means. Memories shape our reality. Our memories are more or less split in two by abstractions, conceptual reductions. Mood states with memories, concepts, attached. Memories of pain and those of joy. Even though I'm not Bipolar (I have Complex-PTSD), I found Unquiet Mind to be quite an informative and inspirational read back when I first started out on my own healing and recovery journey ...

Great--found a used copy of unquiet mind at my local savers store so eager to reread. Just have to get through Skeleton in Cupboard first...
