How do I know what the safest medication is for the treatment of bi polar/ Schizoaffective disorder is?????? It's too much to take in at once.

There's risks with all of them and everyone responds differently I'd stay away from of the old APs other than that you won't know unless you try them out

You can also request a consultation from your pharmacist. Take the names of the meds your doc has mentioned and go over them in the pharmacy. Most (all but one) pharmacists I've worked with like to serve as that sort of resource.

All meds have a risk from what I'm told. Unlike a previous poster, I prefer old meds ad respond better to them. I feel more comfortable that they've been around and studied for longer.
