We both feel so sick and he found a 16 page explanation of altitude sickness on emedicine website. We have almost every symptom including cereberal edema and respiratory edema. Apparently this 8,000 ft ranch is not for us. One can die from altitude sickness but I think that we are in the clear since we haven't already and leave today. I wish I was exaggerating but it's been bad!

A lot of the symptoms mimic some bipolar symptoms like insomnia. So maybe that's what has activated my mixed episode.

The good news is that we will recover quickly be descending to a lower altitude. It's 3:00 am right now. We are packing and can head to Colorado Springs at 1:00 pm which is 1,000 ft. Unfortunately the plane doesn't leave until midnight but at least we will be recovering.

I'm really bad about ignoring physical symptoms probably from having chronic pain for so long. And bipolar being forefront. We should have left this place and flown home sooner but at least the end is near.

Yeah, nobody thinks about altitude sickness until it gets really bad. I've had it a couple of times and it is terrible.

It's cool that your BF looks out for both of you. I do hope you feel better once you get to a lower altitude.

Thanks for the replies!

So. Starting to feel better. Drove four hours to Denver airport. Can't catch an earlier flight.

It will be interesting figuring out how to occupy myself the next 13 hours.

Plane leaves at midnight!

12 and 1/2 hours at Denver airport. I'm hoping to board within thirty minutes. Long day. Starting to feel surreal. Probably just tired. Can't sleep on the plane. Blah!
