Well, I posted an hour ago, now, and have 13 comments or likes. Lots of support and affirmation from people who normally don't respond to my posts.

Good job! See? There are people outside of this forum that care about us. It feels good. But I definitely DID take a mental note of the people that didn't respond to my post too. Pisses me off. But I got such a positive outlook from many people as well as PMs and that felt good

Good for you! What an amazing step. I'm pretty open about my bipolar and I post things on fb every so often and I find it really empowering. It's nice to get more awareness out there to try and reduce the stigma.

I'm really surprised at the volume of response. It's only been 14 hours and 33 people have liked, and 10 people have written comments of love and support. That's far more than I expected.

I agree queen. Its hard cause my wife feeds the stigma and says you need to keep it a secret and not tell anyone. They will look and treet you differently. Only if she and others would just understand that we are who are. The media helps fuel the stigma.

Many minorities go through life hiding who they are and it's no way to live. I've always wanted to volunteer or work with people like myself and that means I have to come out about it. It's not easy but it feels good once you get if off your shoulders.

My cousins wife and I used to be close until I told her I was sick. She acted like I was the worst person on earth and every convo after that was forced and fake. She's my friend on fb and didn't even react to my post. That hurt considering she's been family for over 14 years! It's like losing a family member to me. Oh well, Christmas will be very cold this year I feel!

Try not to take the ones that don't say anything personally. A post like that would only get a heart from me. No other support not because I don't want to but I'm not going to "out myself" even if it's to another BP family member. If you're around me enough to know I take meds you'll know why I take meds. Other then that you'll know if you see my "likes" that's it.

I have 23 reactions or likes and 22 comments as well and numerous people PMing me letting me know they suffer as well. I've been talking to my old Highschool friend all day about how much we're alike it's great that friends, old friends, reached out.

I am afraid that my wife will leave me or kick me out of the house. I hid every day and it eat me up inside. Ppl around dont acknowledge it or offer to learn.
