If a person is stable on meds than I think sure why not, but psych meds can be changed so often.

I used the pill packs after getting out of my first stay in the psych ward, i was like a zombie on my dose of seroquel & my memory was absolutely shot, these definitely helped in those times when i couldnt even remember what day it was anymore, i would still go back to them to this day

True. I'm emailing the company about changes and prn meds. There is a lot that could happen. But thanks for the response!

What about travel? I recently went to Europe and my Rx bottles got scanned in the security machine thing. Then when I got to a different airport, they did random bag checks to physically see what items were really in there because they were afraid of plastic explosives. And well, in both of those instances, they'll see your pills if they're not in a bottle, and then they think you're a drug mule trying to test the waters or a druggie.
Also, if you get pulled over by the cops while you're driving because you're under the influence of prescription drugs and/or they have a drug sniffing dog, you're screwed. You can bring your Rx papers with you when you travel or drive, but I don't think airport security or the cops know which drug is which. Then they take your drugs away from you and test them in a lab to see what they are, and that takes weeks. They're smart enough to know that the numbers/labels on your pills may be faked. So whatever you do, PLEASE keep your original Rx bottles and save some of your meds in there in case you have to travel or drive. |

Good thinking, Blue.
In the U.S., each state has its own laws re: unlabeled/labeled meds. My home state just enacted a new law, allowing for up to 11 days worth of unlabeled meds on your person without penalty. In some cases, that could be a lot of meds! Check state laws unless flying. When I was using domestic airlines, I had all meds in their labeled bottles and in my carry-on. My meds were not checked even once in two round-trip flights, coast to coast. I have too many prns to use packaging. I think pill packs are a great idea for ppl with stable med regimens. ![]() WC |
