Anyone else have bipolar II?? I was told earlier this year I was bipolar, but just seen a psychiatrist who diagnosed me with bipolar II. I am now on abilify and Depakote. Hopefully, this medication helps.

Yeah, I've got type II bipolar.

I'm also taking Abilify, but supplementing it with Wellbutrin. It took a long time to find a reasonably effective combination of meds for me. I hope you have more luck and your pair work straight away.

Bipolar 2 here, too. Mine is a more complex to treat, though, with OCD. See my meds below.

I function pretty normally, though. I have a successful business and pretty healthy relationships. I just have to try to hold back about sharing about my worries and obsessions, because they are pretty neurotic and annoying to people and I've chased off friends before, I think. :-P

I have Bipolar 2 as well. Good luck with the medication. Hope it helps, but don't get discourage if it doesn't. It can take some time to find what works for you.

Yes. My current meds: Depakote, Latuda, citalopram, clonazepam, temazepam.

I've had a very hard time finding a Depakote formula I can tolerate. I take Depakote sprinkles formulation, even though I use them encapsulated. Easier on the gastrointestinal system for me. There are manufacturers discounts for the sprinkles formulation.

I was diagnosed in May with Bipolar 2. Currently I take Vraylar, Xanax, Adderall and Forfivo (basically Wellbutrin). I think the meds are working, but sometimes it's hard to tell.

BP II too, diagnosed last year. Was on Valproic and Risperidone, but this mix made me feel like a zombie and had other bad side effects on me. I gave up taking meds, but it got harder to live with the symptoms. So now I'm on Lamictal and Seraquel. Really effective for me. So if one mix doesn't work, keep trying! Hope those meds work out for you in the long run

I'm BP2 - I take lithium but I used to take Depakote and Ativan.

The meds will help but don't rely on them completely. Loop in diet, sleep, exercise, meditation, and routine. I find all of these have helped me tremendously.

I have bipolar II and it took me a very long time long time (years) to find the right medications for me. My current cocktail is Depakote, Saphris, Lamictal, Prozac, Wellbutrin, and Buspar. It's a embarrassing admitting I need that much medication to keep me stable. I hope you find your med balance quickly and easily, some people are fortunate and they do.

Did you get irritable on Depakote? I have taken it for 4 days now and starting the first day I've been really irritable. Maybe its just me, but I have a feeling its the medication.

I am on abilify and Depakote. I was on Prozac. I liked it but my insides were jumpy and I was going non-stop. My doctor said b/c I was in hypo-mania that it could send me to full blown mania that I needed to stop it. Every since I've started Depakote I've been really easy to get irritable. I don't like it. I called the doctor and he said its normal that it'll go away.

Me! Diagnosed 5 years ago, and just found a good cocktail that's been keeping me stable for the past few months, longer and more stable than ever. Right now I'm on low dose Zyprexa (5mg), Vraylar, wellbutrin, klonopin and Lyrica. Sounds like a lot, and kind of is...but I took out Seroquel and buspar (Lyrica is my buspar replacement) and I'm still doing well, but I don't have any med hangovers.
