I would find it refreshing to be treated by a clinician with MI. Such a sad story. Stigma at its worst.

The stigma is what keeps a lot of people from even mentioning their MI to someone. It's really very sad.

That's the kind of sh_t that pisses me off. The way BP people are treated in general is really sh*tty.

It's socially unacceptable to be racist, but it's perfectly acceptable to have prejudice against people with MI. Talk about total BS. You can't choose your mental health state just like you can't choose your own race. So why is one form of prejudice acceptable, but the other form is not?

So very sad. Hugs for us all.

My previous gp had bipolar disorder. I think he was very selective in who he told. He became to ill to practice and I miss him.

I'm extremely closeted about my illness, only those closest to me know, and I've never told an employer or a coworker. The stigma is so very real.

That is extremely sad.

The legal profession is the same way. Stigmatized.

So sad and infuriating. It's also sad that it might deter other bloggers and others' too, from disclosing their diagnosis to anyone.
