Well this time it wasn't my bipolar disorder it was pancreatitis which was pretty painful. My stomach felt like it was on fire every time I tried to eat something, severe pain and nausea.

So the treatment was first a fast, no food and no water for a day only IV fluids then a liquid diet for another day and heavy duty pain meds. I also had a ton of tests including a cat scan and if you've ever drank that crap they give you for a cat scan OMG YUCK.

The test was one real meal to see if I could eat it or not. They also had to wait till my digestive enzymes which were through the roof, were down enough to release me.

Even though they were nice to me I was totally miserable in the hospital. I couldn't sleep, couldn't eat, couldn't smoke. I couldn't stand being cooped up in that room. Was afraid with getting no sleep I would go manic but it seems the Geodon and tegeretol worked because I am not manic.

The problem with all of this is, is that nobody could tell me why this happened to me. This is usually something that happens to heavy drinkers and I don't drink at all so I don't know what caused this or how to prevent it in the future. I am a scared this is going to keep happening to me and I think the only treatment is in the hospital repeating the process that I went through this weekend.

My stomach still isn't right. It feels strange and I am worried this aint over yet. I am afraid to eat anything. I am going to make an appointment with my dr hopefully today to go over some of this and hopefully she will know something as to why this happened to me. Plus I desperately need to see I dietitian because the diet for this is way different then the one for my diabetes and I don't know what I am supposed to eat anymore.

Well yesterday I went to see my dr but she wasn't there and they gave me another one. Anyway to make a long story short she looked it up and one of my diabetes medications is the likely cause of all of this. I am not too happy about this. The medicine that was supposed to make me better, put me in the hospital.

I told her my stomach still isn't right and she ran some more enzyme tests to see if I am improving. I have to go back in two weeks and repeat the same tests again. I don't know when I will be back to normal again but this really sucks.

It feels like there is a pressure in my stomach and its too uncomfortable to really sleep well. I didn't sleep well last night either. I am starting to become concerned about my sleep. If this keeps up might have to call my pdoc for sleep medication. I don't really want to do that but I will if I have to.

Little Cat thanks for the link but its not gall stones. I got a copy of the cat scan and it says the head of my pancreas is inflamed. It also says I don't have any gall stones. This medicine actually inflamed my pancreas if you can believe it. Totally ****** me up I think. The report did find two other things that aren't right. Apparently I have a hernia by my belly button and they also found diverticulosis.

The dr explained what diverticulosis is and I thought what kind of new fresh **** is this? I hope and pray I don't start having trouble with that **** too in the future. Guess only time will tell.

Hate to bump my own thread here but I am going to quit eating for a while and go back on the clear liquid diet. I ate a salad for lunch and I just cant deal with this anymore. The pressure is too much and its almost bordering on pain again and I don't want to wind up back in the hospital on morphine and whatever the heck that other stuff was. I didn't like that pain med. It made me feel dizzy and like I was falling backwards. I didn't like it at all.

Anyway I don't know how long I can stay on this diet safely but I am going to try to go as long as I can before I try real food again because this truly sucks. I tried to ask my dr about this and she said something stupid like the people on tv who go 45 days without food that its unhealthy... well duh I wasn't think of doing it for 45 days I just wanted to know how long you can go without eating and still be ok incase this **** happens again.

Anyway I don't know how I am going to be feeling so if you don't hear from me I probably don't feel up to going online. Thanks again all.
