Is there anyone else out there that when manic gets so angry they feel like they are possessed?

The severity that I'm experiencing now only happens every 3 - 5 years. I have been on Lamictal since 2003, my last episode of intense anger when I was diagnosed, and I thought it was gone.

But within the last week or so, it has returned and I get angry over the stupidest stuff. I even wake up angry. I hate it when I'm like this and I'm making my 7 yrs old daughter afraid.

yes when i'm in a mania i can get easily frustrated. i have big anger issues. my daughter is also 7 and has seen me throw "temper tantrums" that i feel awful about. i don't know why my mania comes with anger. but i know how you feel. just reassure your daughter that at those times mommy is sick but that you still love her and would never hurt her. see if that might make her feel better just to tell her some of what is happening so that she might understand better.

You should tell your pdoc about the anger right away. It sounds like you might need a med ajustment.

When I'm in my mania stage I have huge issues with my anger also and easily fustrated. When I'm in my mania stage I will get really mouthy and its best to avoid being in public when I'm going through my mania stage, I will often make scenes and not caring what others think. and I'm lucky I haven't got into any legal trouble for it.
