Do you find haldol helps with moods and hallucinations? I'm afraid of side effects. Pdoc has me starting it tonight at bedtime.

I found Haldol to be very effective for moods and psychosis. I did experience akathisia which caused me to discontinue it.

I'm really worried about that actually. I'm prone to adverse side effects! I'll call Monday if it happens. It's 2mg

I've been on haldol at various times, and had no side effects. It did dull my brain, though.

I'm on that as needed.

If I start feeling weird I'll take one and it makes me feel better.

I just can't take it daily because it gives me akathisia. But a few days in a row is fine.

It's a good drug! Decades of use so it's pretty clear what can be problematic.

I have used it. Akathesia ? Yup it " might happen " but it's weight neutral. And there is Cogentin.

Dirt cheap so even if a person has no insurance most everyone could buy it .

I like it, you can actually tell you've taken something. not a miracle drug by any means but it does help. I've had little to no in the way of side effects so far.

Good point about Haldol and akathisia. Cogentin is a very cheap remedy for that and other movement problems related to antipsychotics. It is very old too so it has been studied extensively.
