I've had all I can take. Help me

I've had enough noises of the city. Too many sirens, airplanes, trucks belching noxious fumes into the air, and tires squealing.
I've it with people throwing their trash on the ground
Too many fighter jets overhead (they are doing cold weather training)
I've had it with my liar, *****-kisser boss.
I've had enough of the dogs living being me barking all day.

Please help me cope. I don't know how much longer I can deal with so much noise

Can you get wall hangings or hang blankets to help insulate your walls so less noise gets through? I hate to suggest earplugs because they aren't comfortable and they also drown out what you want to hear. Is moving to a more rural area out of the question?

In my room I keep a soundtrack of water playing all the time so I can focus on it instead of obnoxious background noise. I wish I knew of more ways to cope with noise

We've been running a box fan all summer for the white noise (well, and the cooling ). It helps. At my last appointment, I took note of the white noise machines they had. Figured they should know the good ones, lol. (Because the fan will be too cold before too long).

There are a lot of white noise ("deep space" etc.) choices on youtube too. Big fan of white noise, can you tell? (We have thin walls, with close at hand airport, trains, sirens, neighbors, 2 highways etc)

Always been intrigued with noise cancelling headphones, but not had opportunity to try them.

Some thoughts anyway...

We have an air cleaner that doubles as white noise. My husband has tinnitus, so he needs white noise to cancel out the ringing.

Noise canceling headphones are what you want. They're like magic - put them on, turn on the power, and *poof*.......silence. I would highly suggest you try a pair.

I have several small fountains, I keep one in every room. They really help distract me from the neighborhood noise.
