Is that apart of bipolar or something else like anxiety issues?

Anxiety is probably my biggest issue-even my t says so. I'm anxious every single day. Sucks!

I used to have a lot of anxiety, but I really think for me it was more related to PTSD than bipolar. It isn't a huge issue for me anymore.

I have anxiety and panic attacks just recently. Not sure what caused this, the last time I had anxiety was years ago.. maybe 6-7years ago or longer.

I've got anxiety, and gabapentin and Lyrica have helped.

I've always had anxiety and panic attacks over just about anything and being recently yanked off of 7 mg of Ativan just made matters far worse. When I was in the hospital they stopped 3 medications without even discussing it with me first.

Wow, this is an enlightening thread. I had no idea that anxiety was so common with bipolar. I'm diagnosed with bipolar disorder, but I have terrible anxiety. Some pdocs seem to think the anxiety is a sort-of dysphoric mania. I've been prescribed Tegratol for the anxiety, been on it for just a few weeks, so I'm hoping it'll help.

Anxiety is my middle name, but it's probably more related.to my PTSD than to my bipolar, so yeah, I have a lot of anxiety though...

I've had anxiety all my life, though meds have helped. I managed to wean myself off benzos a few months ago, and now only take them if I'm doing something that produces a lot of anxiety, like flying. So far I've done well. I once asked my pdoc if he thought I had GAD, but he said the anxiety was just part of my bipolar.

I've noticed that my anxiety has improved a great deal since I haven't been working.

I've also had anxiety most my life I think it's natural to have a little bit of anxiety in us. It's problematic when it interferes with your day to day living.

I do not have anxiety. I have experienced a few times when manic. But usually, when manic, my OCD and ADHD tendencies act up.

I've heard many BP people have anxiety at least during mania if not all the time. That's why a lot of us are on a PRN

It seems most people with BP struggle with anxiety, but it often varies for me based on what type of episode it is. If it's hypomania or euphoric mania for me, I might have a restless feeling associated with anxiety, but I don't worry enough about things that would normally concern me. I feel invincible during those periods.

When not euphoric, I'm generally anxious. I've been that way since I was a kid.

I've had anxiety my entire life. I consider it my main problem.

Though, now that I notice, since starting trileptal it's gotten a million times better. It's not a chronic feeling now.

I have always had anxiety. It's hard for me to differentiate anxiety & dysphoric hypomania. Except clonazepam calms my anxiety where is doesn't do so much for the dysphoric hypomania.

I guess this all makes sense. I rarely take my PRN. Maybe 1 day/month. I don't have anxiety.

I'm another anxious one in this sea of the anxious. Like several posters before me indicated, I think my anxiety is more PTSD related than bipolar. However, during my last manic type episode, my anxiety was through the roof! I was also highly delusional which played a big part in the anxiety.
