Is latuda a prescription med or do you have to get samples each time?

Also, what are everyone's experiences with latuda?

Same my doc kept giving me one week samples. I've had a good experience with it so far. Only problem when I was at 80 mg, my tongue became "slow" and I kept clenching my jaw and biting my tongue. After telling my pdoc this (how she knows it was Latuda from the other meds dunno) she scaled it back to 60 and those side effects are minimal at most now.
It is also suppose to help with bipolar depression, although I'm not sure if it has in my case. I mean now I'm not suicidal, not crying as often, not feeling as hopeless but I have moments where all I do is stay in bed. But then again that's why I'm on 2 antidepressants too.

It's a prescription but I got samples until my insurance approved it.

I seem to be doing okay although I'm more anxious on it. I decreased the dose and it seems to be doing fine. I have Neurontin and Vistaril for the anxiety and it seems to help.

I get samples from my doc because even with my insurance it cost me 200 a month. I have been on it for 3 years and have really enjoyed how it has stabilized me enough to hold down a job for 2 years. I was riding a little low as baseline and added wellbutrin. I love the combo now since i can't remember the last time i felt this good.

I don't have any Latuda experience, but from what I hear it is expensive. My doc actually told me that, I had asked to try it, but he said that he had little experience with it and the cost was so high since there was no generic (that was over a year ago though so idk if there is any generic yet) and my insurance only covers generics.

I was at a crisis unit once after having been there short time before. He had out me on Latuda and I gained 11 pounds and yes I'm disgustingly fat and ugly. I was depressed and suicidal then. He lectured me because he said its weight neutral but I'd gained weight. I've struggled with my weight since I started psych meds at 17. I don't put all the blame on them but let's out pdocs on zyprexa or something similar and see if they gain.

Anyway, I felt SO bad about myself after he said that. Made it hard to recover from my depression! Luckily I have a great pdoc now and I'm on Latuda again and haven't gained.
