i have a question well a few actually i really dont know much on the subject so forgive me but someone i know said they had the "worse version" of bipolar talking about type 1. is there a "worse" one than the other? if yes what does that mean? and also what are the differences anyway?

i dont mean to offend anyone i am sure both types are very difficult to deal with i am just curious about this persons comment.

One isn't worse than the other, as far as I understand. Bipolar 1 has to deal with more severe mania, but with bipolar 2 depression tends to be more chronic. Each has its downsides, and everyone experiences them differently anyway.

Calling one better or worse is oversimplifying things, for sure. The suicide rate for Bipolar I and Bipolar II are about the same, so in that regard, they are both very serious illnesses.

I do understand how Bipolar I can seem a lot more serious, especially when it comes with psychotic features. It seems that way to me, personally, but that might just be because it's not familiar. Deep depression should be just as scary as full-blown mania, but to me, it isn't, since I know deep depression very well and have only experienced hypomania.

there are other videos that you can watch that she has made too.
She did not mention that if you are psychotic that automatically puts you into the bipolar 1 category.

type twos spend more time depressed and only get bouts of hypomania. type ones experience full mania as well as the hypomania and depression.

Can Bi-polar make you do thing`s out of character?

As I suffer with depression which can last either a couple of day`s or a couple of week`s, depending on what`s going on in my head at the time (Past trauma`s) can this also make you want to do thing`s out of character?

Thanks'............

Oh yes, bipolar makes you do things that you would never consider doing
when not in a manic or depressed state.
Making bad or even dangerous decisions is a big part of being bipolar.
At least that is my experience with it.

Thanks' fishin fool for your info.

As every day I just want answer`s to the thing`s that's happened in my life past and present! When other thing`s happen (Like when my brother was diagnosed with an amorism on the brain late last year) my stress level`s hit the roof thinking am I to lose yet another younger brother in my sorry life! And then with the other demon`s flying around in my head I am thinking self destruct mode, I can`t cope with this.............Aaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh

The it`s the crying and suicide mode for a couple of day`s!

Regard`s Al...............

Thanks Raspberrytorte.

I hate being like this (Depressed, Suicidal, Lonely, Isolated, Guilty, Anxious, Worthless and unloved) all the time! It`s like being on a roller-coaster that never stop`s!! And I hate Christmas as I know it is coming up to my brother`s anniversary (2nd January) a few week`s before I go into hide and lock the door mode! I don`t want to see or talk to anybody! I don`t eat, which make`s me even worse! I JUST WANT TO DIE!!!!!!
`BUT` after that month has passed, something might distract me like: My mate saying to me "Do you feel like going fishing" After a few day`s digesting what he said, I make this like a goal and then it just seem`s to perk me up a bit. (Strange I know!!)

Can anybody relate too this?

I don't believe there is one particular type that is worse. It varies based on the individual. Some say BP1 is worse than BP2 based on the manic side and increased likelihood of psychosis, but I did find an interesting article a while back that discussed how BP2 can be just as serious, and the depressions can be devastating and longer lasting than other BP Type 1 (though that's not true in every case, of course). I think they each have their own set of challenges, and everyone is different.
