Here in the uk doctors tend not to measure our blood pressure etc.. Even if on heavy duty meds like seroquel (which I'm not taking any more - allergic)

I avoid doctors as much as I can.. I've consulted too many who were dismissive

(Edited..dark stuff I don't want to go there grrr)

I would rather know in advance that I have 3 months for example and I would like to know when it is time to go, just because I would like to hold my wife's hand as I go.

If it was 3 months, or even a year, I'd want to know..

But when they talk about say 10 years in the "future" ugh

Do they really think I want to still be here then?

Actually the last time I saw my doctor she told me it would be 10 years at most but I highly doubt the prognosis of something that far away.
Thanks for this!

I was told when we were trying for a baby that I had a "brain tumour"

And that "down the road" I'd be more likely to get x and y

Again a couple of years ago I was told I'd have/need something abhorrent "down the road"

These are, unfortunately, not life threatening..

I wonder if some of these people have hearts

I can't even "freak out" or anything because I have to appear completely "sane" to have any chance at all of...

I'm sorry you've had such a hard time with doctors. It sounds like those you have seen are not to be trusted. I think, with Seroquel, it's important to get lipids (i.e. cholesterol) checked -my pcp does that once a year, as it can cause cholesterol to increase, at least by overeating on it. Is there any way you can insist on getting your blood pressure (and maybe cholesterol) checked or are they resistant even to that? I really am sorry you've been through all of this.

I did write a longer post but deleted it...

I appreciate the replies anyway (I just wish those doctors hadn't screwed with my head quite so much )
