Do you think that feeling sick affects your mood to a significant degree? Does being sick trigger an episode?
I hate feeling sick. My sister gave me a nasty cold that has made me feel awful on top of the awfulness I get from being mixed. Like honestly, it makes me wish I were I dead.. Although arguably, you could call me dead anyway because that's what I look and sound like thanks to this nasty sinusitis. I might as well be an extra on the set of The Walking Dead since I look like a zombie anyways. Perfect timing for Halloween! Guess who already has a costume... No, but seriously... I feel like sh#t. I can't sleep due to being mixed, and a lack of sleep only exacerbates my sinusitis. Then my sinusitis makes it difficult to sleep when I DO feel tired because my throat is sore, I have a persistent headache, and I can't breathe. It's a vicious cycle. How do you cope? No OTC meds have helped thus far, so I'm on my own on this one. It's the Wild West... |

I deal with chronic sickness and pain ....depression makes it worse and feel "all consuming" whereas mania seems to provide a bit of relief from it all.
Things that help me which you also have access to are immersing my head in very warm epsom bath water. Very effective for headaches. Heating pads and or ice packs on the head are also good. Put your head over a pot of steaming water with some tea in it (peppermint or camomile). Use a vaporizer and some Vicks. I will also sometimes take swigs of niquil which helps a bit and will often help me sleep. Get lots of rest....drink fluids....stay hydrated and keep mucus thin by drinking extra fluids....take some vitamin C. I'm sorry you are feeling so bad and I hope you feel better soon. |
