So, I have not really had any tiredness issues at all--ever. I took a Magnesium supplement for 2 days (including this morning), and about 6:30p, I could hardly keep my eyes open!! Very, very unusual for me.
Can this happen?? I am also BPD with mostly depressive symptoms. I have also added Vitamin D and a Probiotic (but I have taken these offten in the past with no issues) IS it the magnesium??? This SUCKS ![]()

I've been interested in taking a magnesium supplement also but I'm afraid I don't know anything about it. Hopefully someone with personal experience and more information will come along to share. I battle fatigue...it's an awful symptom and I was hoping magnesium would help it, not complicate it further.

I've never heard of that. It should increase you energy level.
If you can't keep your eyes open, it sounds like it was putting you to sleep. Insomnia is associated with low magnesium levels, and if you've ever been to a natural hot springs, you know how relaxed and sleepy you are when you get out because of the high magnesium content. Cut back on what you're taking, and see if that helps.

Yes magnesium is often used for sleep. I take 1000mg every night. Vit D actually makes you have energy so I take a large dose during the day. Be careful with the magnesium though. If it's the cheap stuff you'll be running to the toilet the next morning as it's also used for a laxative!

People aren't told that the RDAs the FDA sets are nothing but minimum amounts needed to keep you alive. Here are a couple of examples. The RDA of iodine is 150 mcg which is what's needed to keep you from developing a goiter on your neck. It isn't enough to enable your body to be able to do anything else. A top doctor who studies iodine recommends taking 12 mg of iodine daily which is 80 times the RDA. Same with vitamin C. The RDA is something like 60 mg which is just enough to keep you from dying from scurvy and your teeth from falling out. It isn't enough to enable the body to use the nutrient to build health. I take around 1,200 mg of magnesium a day as I my body can't hold on it to for some reason. So long as I take it, I'm fine. If I don't, I end up with a host of insane symptoms that make my life miserable.

I take Natural Calm, which is a powdered ionic magnesium citrate supplement. I take it at night for the purpose of helping me to both fall asleep and stay asleep. About 30 minutes after I take my dose (325 mg), I can't keep my eyes open. It has been a life saver for me in that regard.
Can you take your mag in the evening? |
