And boy did it feel good, the realization this summer that I have been in an abusive relationship made it is much easier to move away from hoping that she will take me back, to being empowered. I feel so light today, I thought I would be devastated but not the case.

I deserve to be happy, this is my big take away from the last year of suffering.

I know how you feel... when I divorced my husband I felt so free and powerful that it was almost (almost) like feeling manic, only better!

*Update*
She called me up yesterday pissed off that I was moving things too fast, also to tell me that I should not be dating, even though she already is. Even in divorce she tries to rule the roost. Cant wait until this is all in my rearview.

I have been in your shoes and it felt good for me also to finally move forward.
My ex was the same way trying to control even our divorce.
I didn't let that happen and it felt good.
Wish you a lot of luck.

I'm happy for your happiness!

Keep in mind, sometimes these things drag on forever, so be emotionally ready for that.
And if there are kids involved, she's not gone.

But, not trying to bring you down, I'm happy you feel free and you deserve to feel that way! Good luck!
