I was wondering if anyone ever had an experience like this and if these symptoms qualify for Bipolar mania. Everything is going along just fine and then a trigger is activated - a relationship change and then an intense anxiety/mania occurs lasting 2 years!!! Sleep changes, weight loss, intense hypersexuality, fast talking, ruminating thoughts, intrusive thoughts that bring up intense emotions (often about the past), a desire to make big changes. Then one day a thought is triggered and then it's gone. A few days later the anxiety turns to depression. Does this sound like Bipolar?

I guess it's possible but that's an incredibly long cycle.

That is a long period of time. Some people are diagnosed with atypical or unspecified Bipolar Disorder. Maybe what you are describing would fall under that, but only a doctor can make that determination. If you haven't found a pdoc, you might want to consider asking your primary care physician for a referral to be evaluated and consider your options as far as help goes. Good luck.
