So I go to a DBT group once a week and there's a girl in there who I kind of have a thing for. I saw her around back when I was in IOP, and now we're in the same group. Well she's a musician and gave everyone in the group her card with her email on it. I sent an email months ago with my number in it saying if she ever wanted to talk or blow off steam I could be there. Then a few weeks ago she texted me out of the blue, and we've been talking since.

And she's said some things in group that lead me to believe there *might* be a chance at something there.

But I don't know what to do... Do I tell her how I feel? Or just let this go because we're in the same therapy group and I could see how that could get weird fast...

I'm so tired of being caught up in these ****ed up situations with women...

Any input would be appreciated
Thanks peeps

I say go for it, I would love to find somebody else who could relate to my MI. At least you two will have that.

Right now I would jump in with both feet and no umbrella. I got sparks of fuzzies just reading about it. Carpe Diem!

One of our rules in DBT was no dating within the group with the exception of not being in the same group.

I kinda thought that might be a rule I have yet to hear. I'd be totally willing to switch to another group to avoid any problems.

We have the same rule in my group, no relationships, even friendships are frowned upon.

We never know where we will meet our soulmate. Dismiss nothing! I can see the sparks flying all the way over here! Don't take the bench...get out and play

Steps:
1. Ask whoever is in charge of the group about relationships and if they are allowed. Mention that you can change groups.
2. Change the group or not depending on the rules.
Now you have a clear path!
3. Text the girl if she wants to do something outside the group such as get coffee, or hot chocolate or tea if caffeine is out.
4. Fall in love!!!!

Good luck to you
Thanks for this!

Usually there are no relationships in group because if the relationship goes south, then the whole group and affected members suffer.

If you can change groups that would be cool.

doesn't matter anyway. I told her how I felt, and that ship has sailed. :/
