Does anyone here get daily variations in mood? Random hours of euphoria, then normal, or struggles with dark thoughts and apathy, then normal out of the blue?

Is that bipolar on meds even if it's relatively controlled or is that hormones etc?

My mood can fluculate during the day based on the strength of outside stimuli. I think it's human and I think bipolar can ignite these fluctuations and is skilled in doing so. Im trying to be smarter than the illness but like my doctor said, intelligence has nothing to do with it. We need protective gear to ride these waves and jump these ramps.

Yes this can happen to me and quite a lot lately since my meds got increased. Mostly because I wake up with a wicked seroquel hangover, I'm cranky for awhile. Then after I wake up and take my day time meds, I'm fine once they kick in.

I think it's normal for moods to fluctuate during the day. Neurotypical people feel a variety of emotions during the day. It is what it is. Like today I felt fine, then slightly depressed, then fine. But I still count myself stable.

This sums up exactly what I experienced today. For me, I think it's a combination of the BP symptoms and hormonal at the moment. I woke up groggy, but then felt euphoric and elated for a few hours. Sharp and confident about my work.

Later on, my mood was "up," but I was in tears and all over the place although nothing at all triggered it. For the past few hours, I'm wide awake, wired, but I keep crying, thinking dark thoughts...then I'm okay for an hour, but then it happens all over again.

I think it's just human. People without any MI's also fluctuate in mood throughout the day, I think we're just more aware of it. I wouldn't worry about it unless it becomes very extreme.

Since yesterday I have swung from wild and suicidal with a plan to euphoric. I have also been feeling god-like, racing mind, agitation, anxiety and believing i know everything. Apparently this is not normal. My dr sees my swing as pTSD and bipolar related.

Do you have any other symptoms with your moods? If not, and the moods are mild then I would say it is pretty normal. What do you think? Are you unwell or just experiences of mild mood fluctuations?

I feel like since I've been "stable", daily mood fluctuations can swing from depressed in morning, to euphoric around lunch, for a few hours, wanting to go blow money at the mall or plan a vacation, to wanting to flirt with people because im feeling sexual (which i normally flirt with my dpouse), to baseline etc. That's just an example. Sometimes I'll feel no euphoria or depression so I'm guessing that's a stable day. Other days I'll feel these variations. Even if they're subtle and I don't outwardly look hypo or depressed.

My mood varies quite a bit due to situations and conditions. I think it's normal to have minor fluctuations in mood.

I guess the line lays in the place where the mood swings affect your life negatively, like spending too much money or having SI. Or if the swinging causes distress. there are some meds that are helpful in slowing down the swings if not getting rid of them totally. Keep us posted.
